SALP 001 enters production.
The idea becomes an object.

After everything this journey has taught me, Skyline Archive’s first vinyl could not be treated as a simple container for music. It had to carry the label’s character in its sound, its matter and every decision behind it.

01 · THE PHYSICAL STATEMENT

Built to hold more than three tracks.

The manufacturing request for SALP 001 has now been submitted to Record Industry in Haarlem. The first Skyline Archive pressing will be limited to 300 individually numbered copies — a deliberate scale for a founding edition designed with attention rather than excess.

The object follows the same visual language as the label: a vivid orange outer sleeve printed on 380 gsm board, a black two-hole inner sleeve and black PVC. Nothing is added simply to decorate it; every element belongs to one coherent physical identity.

02 · THE TRACE

Every copy carries its place in the story.

The foil number on the back is not a speculative promise of value. It is a trace: the position of each copy inside Skyline Archive’s first physical edition.

Three hundred records are enough to let the music circulate, yet intimate enough for the object to retain the feeling of a first chapter shared directly with those who choose to hold it.

03 · THE PRODUCTION CHAIN

A sequence of deliberate choices.

The aim is continuity: preserve the record’s emotion and analogue tension from the final mixes to the lacquer, then from the lacquer to the finished pressing.

Metropolis Studios · London

Mastering and lacquer cutting are scheduled with Matt Colton for 17 September 2026. His role is central: retain weight, movement, space and the individual character of three deliberately different tracks.

Record Industry · Haarlem

The supplied lacquers will enter a plant that brings galvanics, pressing and sleeve production together. Five test pressings will be approved before the final run of 300 black-vinyl copies.

20 November 2026 · Industrial milestone

This is the first available preferred delivery slot proposed by Record Industry and remains subject to final plant confirmation. It is a manufacturing target — not yet the definitive public release date.
